Last updated: June 2026. This policy explains what personal information we collect, how we use it, and your rights under Australian privacy law.

Who we are

VetStuff (vetstuff.com.au) is operated from Australia. This policy is written to comply with the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth) and the Australian Privacy Principles, plus the EU GDPR for international visitors.

What we collect

• Email subscriptions — your email address if you sign up for our newsletter or "notify me" product alerts.
• Contact form messages — your name, email, and message when you contact us via the website form.
• Server access logs — basic request data (IP, page requested, timestamp) is logged by our hosting provider and retained for 30 days. Not linked to your identity and used only for security and debugging.
• (Future) Anonymous analytics — we may add a privacy-friendly analytics tool down the track (no cookies, no cross-site tracking). If we do, we'll update this page first.
• (Future) Order information — when our online store opens for purchases, we'll collect your name, email, shipping address, and items ordered to fulfil your order. Payment details will be handled directly by our payment processor (planned: Stripe) — we'll never see or store your full card details.

What we don't collect

• We don't use third-party advertising trackers (no Facebook Pixel, no Google Ads tracking).
• We don't sell, rent, or share your data with marketing companies.
• We don't use cookies for cross-site tracking.

How we use your information

• To process and ship your orders
• To send order confirmations, shipping updates, and respond to enquiries
• To send newsletter or product launch emails — only if you've opted in
• To improve the website using anonymous traffic data

Who we share with

Only the third parties strictly required to run the business:

• Buttondown — newsletter delivery (buttondown.com/privacy)
• Web3Forms — contact form delivery (web3forms.com/privacy-policy)
• ImprovMX — email forwarding for our domain (improvmx.com/privacy)
• Our hosting provider (server logs only, retained 30 days)
• (Future) When the online store opens, we will share order data with: Stripe for payment processing (stripe.com/au/privacy) and Australia Post for shipping (your address only, for delivery).

Your rights

Under Australian and EU law, you have the right to:

• Access the personal information we hold about you
• Correct any inaccuracies
• Delete your information (subject to any legal record-keeping requirements)
• Unsubscribe from marketing emails at any time (one-click link in every email)
• Lodge a complaint with the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner (oaic.gov.au) if you believe we've mishandled your data

Data retention

We keep order records for 7 years as required by Australian tax law. Newsletter subscribers remain on the list until you unsubscribe. Contact form messages are deleted after we've replied unless ongoing correspondence requires otherwise.

Data security

The site uses HTTPS encryption. Payment data never touches our servers. Customer records are stored on secure infrastructure with restricted access. That said, no online service is 100% secure — please use a strong, unique password if you create an account.

Children's privacy

This site is not directed at children under 16 and we do not knowingly collect personal information from minors.

Changes to this policy

If we make material changes, we'll post a notice at the top of this page and email subscribers. Minor updates (clarifications, typo fixes) will just be reflected in the "Last updated" date.
